Orlando Dance Audition (Modern and Contemporary Styles)

We are now offering private auditions for male and female dancers over 18 years old.

Are you looking for a creative home? Be a part of a theatrical love story and perform modern/contemporary/improv dance and act in paint, flying water and sand to a live rock band! DRIP has an artsy warehouse venue and bar on International Drive and performs weekly as well as at off site events. The movement experience is raw, wet, colorful and unlike anything else you have experienced.

REQUIREMENTS: Must be available for Sat afternoon rehearsals and at least 1 event night per week. An open mind and being comfortable kissing someone onstage is required (we are telling a love story after all).

At DRIP, you are a part of a team. You won't feel like a number, you will feel like family. We create common creative goals and work together towards making them a reality. Everyone is important in our growing company and everyone wears multiple hats.

REQUIREMENTS: Must be available for Sat rehearsals sometime between 10am-5pm and at least 1 show night per week. An open mind and being comfortable kissing someone onstage is required.

WHAT TO WEAR: Something that allows you to move and for us to see your body. You may want to bring tennis shoes/socks because the floor is concrete.

WHAT TO BRING: Resume and headshot/photo.

Each Local Art Night will include about 12 visual artists and 1 musician/band/dj.

Auditions for Drummers, Guitar & Bass Players - in Orlando

ATTENTION GUITAR &/OR BASS PLAYERS - We are looking for a few awesome peole to join our live art production! The ideal candidate would be looking for an edgy creative outlet that incorporates multiple artistic mediums (music, dancers, theater, visual art, and more.)

Must have a flexible evening schedule, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.

Our show features original rock art music by David Traver (of Blue Man Group).

WHO: Men and women (at least 18 yrs+) strong in contemporary dance and modern dance. Must be comfortable with improv and acting. Must be committed, dependable and communicate well. (paid & unpaid opportunities available)

Doors open for registration at 5:00 PM and the audition will start directly afterwards.

IDEAL CANDIDATES:
We are looking for people who think about dance as an art form and are committed to constant improvement and development. Many of our dancers have commercial dancing experience but have found a home at DRIP with like-minded driven and loving performance artists who work together to create new artistic experiences that inspire. You must be open minded, our performances sometimes incorporate edgy sensual content. Must be willing to commit to being with the company for 6 months but interested in a long term relationship.

WHAT TO BRING: 
Dancers resume and a photo of yourself. Wear comfortable clothes that allow us to see your figure and flexible dance shoes that you don’t mind getting messy. 
WOMEN-be ready to dance in a half top/sports bra.
MEN-be ready to dance shirtless.

DRIP in May - no age restrictions!

A message from Jessica Mariko, DRIP founder:

Before opening DRIP on I-drive, I had an idea about the age range of the future guests but after we opened, I was pleasantly surprised by the wide age range of people who attended.  Age was not the thing they had in common; they were all open minded.  They were people who googled "out of the box things to do in Orlando" or "what to do besides the amusement parks" and found us.

85 yr old women stood besides 21 yr old men and high fived.  Once and a while we hosted a children's birthday party, family affair or let our cast members bring their children to the show and I couldn't help but melt when I saw the look of awe in the eyes of the younger people.  We created DRIP to bring out the inner child in adults so children felt naturally at home.  It brought so much joy to me and afterwards their mothers thanked us for creating an educational experience for their little ones. (DRIP was not designed to be "educational", it was designed to excite people with things they have never experienced and therefore became educational.)

I thought, if a 85 yr old woman could stand next to 21 yr old man, then maybe they could also stand next to a 15 yr old struggling with their personal identity or a 4 year old who wants his white DRIP t-shirt turned into a cape?  I'm not sure honestly.. but we only live once and we're going to try it out.

Be a part of an official Gay Days visual art show at DRIP!

Gay Days brings over 180,000 people to Orlando! Crowds of internationals, nationals, locals, vacationers and business travelers will be coming to DRIP (May 28-June 1).

We are selecting artists (any medium) with art in the following themes: Love, human figure, gay rights, same sex.

You will have your own station (5x5 ft) with wall space to hang as much art as you wish. You are welcome to also bring a table to display prints/merch.

The right art, priced well, WILL sell. People come to DRIP wanting to take an artistic memory home with them. We sold 10+ pieces in the last art show!
